Biography

Posters, book jackets, illustration, trademarks. Born 10 January 1905. First trained as a locksmith. 1926-31: studied at the Munich Akademie für angewandte Kunst. 1934-40: taught commercial art at the Mainz Staatsschule für Kunst und Handwerk. 1940-45: taught at the Meisterschule, Offenbach a.M. 1929: awarded Albrecht Dürer Prize, City of Nuremberg.
