Biography

Posters, publicity. Russian-German-French. Born 21 February 1909 in Moscow. Trained in Moscow, Paris, Italy, then in 1922 settled in Germany. 1926-7: student of Müller-Schönefeld in Berlin. 1927-31: studied at the Kunstakademie, Berlin: a teacher was O.H.W. Hadank. 1922-47: lived in Berlin; 1933-7: designed 3 posters for the London Underground; 1948: moved to Paris, where he had a successful career.
