Biography
Book artist, advertising, lettering, exlibris. Born 19 September 1886 in Kempen. Studied at art schools in Krefeld, Zurich, Düsseldorf, and at the Leipzig Akademie für Graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe. 1919-48: taught at the Hochschule für bildenden Künste, Berlin. Hoyer designed the typefaces Hoyer-Fraktur (Bauer) and Hoyer-Schönschrift (1939, Stempel). Died 1960 in Berlin.
