Biography
Posters, books, bookjackets, publicity, sculpture. Born 16 September 1889 in Offenbach. Early 1920s: studied with Rudolf Koch in Offenbach. Later designed books and posters for Leipzig publishers. His proposal for a poster for the projected 1940 Gutenberg Exhibition (Leipzig) was a ‘runner-up’. 1947: designed occasional covers for the journal Das Buchgewerbe (DDR). Died 6 November 1971 in Leipzig.
