Fritz Rosen

Biography

Born 1890 in Frankenthal. 1914: worked in an architectural office in Frankfurt a.M. 1924: employed in Lucian Bernhard’s Berlin studio, later partner; maintained the studio, Atelier Bernhard-Rosen, during Bernhard’s stay in USA (LB emigrated in 1923). 1932: designed political posters (pseud: E. Mehrmann). 1933: left Germany, lived in Switzerland, England, France. From 1936: lived in London. 1940: as an ‘enemy alien’ interned 5 months. From 1945: worked for the chemical industry. Died 1980 in Brighton, England.
