Biography
Book jackets, book covers, publicity, posters, exhibitions. Born 19 September 1889 in Frankfurt a.M. Studied at the Kunstschule there. Taught at the Fachschule für Buch- und Kunstgewerbe, Frankfurt a. M. Lived in Frankfurt a.M. and designed much work for the city’s Fairs. Designed posters and publicity for HAPAG the Hamburg-Amerika Linie. Designed official emblem of NSDAP. In 1936 his reputation was such that he designed the special binding and box for the handwritten Mein Kampf presented to Hitler on his birthday. Designed publicity for the Chemical-Pharmaceutical Co., Bad Hamburg, and designed the Sunday advertisement pages of the Frankfurter Zeitung as well as features in the daily paper. 1937: living in Frankfurt a.M. Died 5 March 1969 in Frankfurt a.M.
